Button Working in Flash Do's & Don'ts

When making an animation with start/stop features
-----------------------------------------------------------------

DO'S =
1. Learn how to use the Action function! It is in Window. Go to window then scroll down & click on Action.
2. When making a button save the thong that will be a button as a button!
3. To create the button's colors & details, double click on the button to take it to editing mode.
4. Then you can change the colors of the button while being clicked & just while it is there & when the mouse is over it. Also you can determine the area around the button that can be clicked.
5. Make sure that when giving the button the control you want it to have you click the button & not the layer!
6. Properly place the points to stop & start your animation.
7. Make sure you have a plan for what you are going to do.

DON'TS =
1. Don't try to give a button a function while having the layer selected!
2. MAKE THE BUTTON! You can't give a function to something to something that doesn't exist!
3. Make sure you place the buttons function at the right place & not just anywhere.
4. Don't just place the stop or the start command anywhere in the animation because it won't work right. Unless you want it like that; stopping & starting randomly then go ahead. It's your choice.
5. Don't save something you want to be a button as something else.
6. Just randomly try things if you have a deadline. Unless you have alot of time, find out what does what so you can save time working & getting done instead of trying to figure it out. If you can't, oh well, sorry. Good luck.
7. Neglect any effort!
